I used to play a game called "the game" which involves the elements. What does the coyote do?

I'll describe the game so you can figure out if you know the game I am talking about. Each person has four stones which represent the four elements, earth wind fire and water. You throw them when it is your turn and if they land heads up, they are applicable to that turn. The point of the game is to collect one of every cosmic item. I know i haven't described the game in full, but if you've played it I don't think i need to go into further detail. I'm trying to recreate it, but I have forgotten what the coyote does. Has anyone ever played this game and if they have, what does the coyote do?
